What is College Metro?

College Metro is an annual gathering for church-based College Ministers who identify with and can affirm the doctrinal statements included in the Baptist Faith and Message. It is a unique conference designed to provide a respite from the everyday busyness of college ministry, while also providing opportunities for cultivating creativity, stirring affection for the Lord, and stoking the flames of passion for collegiate ministry. Metro exists to EQUIP college ministers for pushing back lostness on their respective college campuses, to ENCOURAGE collegiate ministry leaders in the everyday pursuit of Christ and in their calling to disciple college students, and to INSPIRE one another for long-lived, deeply meaningful ministry pursuits.

Do you desire to connect with other College Ministers that are based in the local church context? Do you think networking with, learning from, and befriending others in your particular ministry niche is important for your personal growth and the growth of your ministry? If so, Metro is the gathering for you. Join us as we seek to learn from one another, sharpen each other's skills, and share ideas for effective collegiate ministry.

College Metro is probably one of the best opportunities of the year for me to reset and reflect ... It’s difficult to explain, but it is not like any other seminar or conference I’ve ever been to. The casual atmosphere, and the way that everyone is truly honest with each other is just a great way for me to relax and really focus on my ministry, debrief, and refuel.

What to expect at COllege Metro:

College Metro Conference is a relaxed atmosphere - a gathering intended to facilitate dialogue.  Metro hosts three main large group worship gatherings where attendees participate in musical worship and our guest speakers address the entire group. You can also expect two Whiteboard sessions (which are our bread and butter) where ministers share ideas, ask questions, discuss what books have been helpful, which resources have been effective, etc. Metro also includes breakout seminars and affinity group sessions. Each aspect of the organized time at College Metro is intended to spark creativity, facilitate networking, and encourage one another in worshipful ministry.

Since attending (Metro), our ministry has benefited from the insight, support, innovation, and experience shared by co-laborers in the most intensely paced ministry in the church.…Resources and best practices get outdated, but connections with others along the way keep you ahead of the curve.
